Tobacco Interventions for Clients with Mental Illness and/or Substance Use Disorders

Course Description: This online specialized course is designed to provide learners with the knowledge, skills and abilities to provide a client-centred, biopsychosocial approach to screen, engage and treat clients with a mental illness and/or substance use disorder for tobacco use. Learners will be able to apply these skills and approach to tobacco users to detect common mental illnesses and other substance use disorders and refer as appropriate. Learners will also be able to design a treatment program for such clients.

Intended audience: This course is open to all interested learners. 

For those interested in completing the TEACH Certificate Program, this course would count as one Specialty Course.
